Eric Bernstein
Eric Bernstein began his first Audio Visual company (On Stage Productions) with his brother Robert in Beaumont, TX circa 1976. In 1981 he relocated to Austin to attend the University of Texas. It was during this time that Eric met the founders of High End Systems and soon became an employee of their company, Blackstone Audio Visual. It was at Blackstone that Eric continued to learn his craft in the design and engineering of sound, light and video systems into fixed installations.
In 1986 Blackstone became High End Systems and shortly after Eric opened Premier Sound & Light, Inc. with his wife Debra. Premier offered sales, repair and design services to the entertainment industry and was authorized sell and service over 100 product lines. In 1990 Bishop Kenneth Phillips asked Eric to help light the World of Pentecost production of Jesus the Miracle. It was this invitation that gave Eric the opportunity to merge new lighting technology into worship based production and realize the true power that lighting, video and audio can give to a Church produced event. The original rental became the largest installation of intelligent lighting that Premier had done to date.
Over the next 12 years Premier became one of the leading contractors in the Sound, Lighting and Video Industry until it was sold to Professional Audio Supply in 1998. At that time clients included Six Flags, Sea World, St Theresa Catholic Church, World of Pentecost, Hillcrest Baptist Church, Jerry Garcia, Selena and many other Churches, Theme Parks, Entertainment Venues and Tours.
In 1999 Eric and Debra began Intelligent Lighting Services to address the growing questions and demand for “intelligent” lighting fixtures and control. The business quickly gained momentum as it became apparent that Worship Facilities allowed ILS to best exhibit their creative designs utilizing the latest technologies and integrating them with new or existing systems. Whether it is adding a few lights, sound components, video or designing/specifying a completely new system or building, each client is unique and approached with a view that nothing is “ordinary” about their facility, production or service.
Eric is very excited to be part of Lighting Ministries and looks forward to sharing his vast knowledge with the Ministries' clients and friends. Please feel free to contact him at eric@lightingministries.com or at the Ministries’ main number.
